I'm trying to avoid algorithms that pick on my behalf what to see.

Miniflux is a RSS feed reader that I can easily self host, no frills.

I can read top Reddit posts, Hacker News posts, and most importantly, articles from cool blogs I find even if they don't make it to the frontpages.
